A pair of Roman & Persian bronze inkwell lids. The first is a circular lid with incised floral decoration and square opening for attachment of the lid, 1 1/4 in (3.2 cm). The second is a lid from a Persian inkwell, c. 17th - 19th Century, the central oval opening covered by a hinged open-work 'lid' in the form of crossing floral elements. 2.8 x 2.5 cm. Beautifully patinated and a neat piece! Ex collection of Peter Cheremisinoff, NJ.
