A pair of Romano-Egyptian terracotta heads

A pair of Romano-Egyptian terracotta heads. The first depicts the aged Harpokrates, 2nd - 3rd Century AD, wearing rolled diadem and side-lock, his features rather grotesque per the style. Deposits throughout. H: 1 4/5 in (4.6cm). Removable wood base. The second depicts a woman, c. 1st - 2nd Century AD, with tightly curled hair drawn back into a plait and holes for earrings. H: 1 3/4 in (4.5cm). Nice black wood base. Ex collection of Howard Mathues, Philadelphia, acquired late 1950's - early 1960's.
