A pair of cut and moulded clear glass and gilt metal mounted lustre candlesticks, possibly Northern Europe, third quarter 19th century, in Gothic Revival taste, the everted and lozenge cut drip pans hung with faceted drops overall, rising from openwork stems cast with quatrefoils and inset with further faceted pendants, descending to stylised flowerhead bases, 28cm highProperty from the estate of the late Betty, Lady GrantchesterCondition Report: These bear the usual minor marks, knocks, scuffs and scratches overall commensurate with age and use.Some of the drops have chips, especially to the tops and in one or two cases to the ends. One has been fitted with an added bead.On one of the lustres not all drops are at an even length, as the stick is at a slight angle which could presumably be addressed.The bases are a little nibbled and scratched around the edges.The gilding is a little rubbed.
