A pair of gilt bronze and champlevé enamel vases by Ferdinand Barbedienne, last quarter 19th century, of tapered cylindrical form with flared rims, the bodies with all-over chain link decoration on turquoise ground and a heraldic device with stylised lilies and banner inscribed Puritas, the twin ring handles suspended from lion masks, on splayed, festooned feet, inscribed F. BARBEDIENNE on the underside of the rim, 30.5 cm high
