Condition Report:
The candlesticks are in overall good condition with well preserved inlays, with some occasional scattered losses notably to the red borders. One of the two candlesticks' middle trays is slightly warped, as visible in the catalogue photos.
整體品相良好,鑲嵌大部分完整,僅有少許輕微缺損。其一燭臺稍歪,於圖錄可見。
Catalogue Note:
These finely cast and beautifully embellished candlesticks were probably originally part of a five-pieces garniture to be placed on a Buddhist altar. See for example a set in situ in the Fanhua Lou in the forbidden city, illustrated in Cultural Relics of Tibetan Buddhism collected in the Qing palace, Beijing, 1992, pl. 120.
