[ translate ]

A pair of gilt-bronze and white marble mounted cassolettes in Louis XVI style, 19th century, the domed covers each enclosing a candle nozzle, and cast with fircone finials, descending to ovoid bodies inset with recessed bands of Vitruvian scrolls and mounted with rams' masks and festoons, raised on hoof feet, above beaded circular bases, 26cm high overallCondition Report: The cassolettes bear the usual minor marks, knocks and scratches overall consistent with age and use, including to the marble. There is some minor nibbling to the marble bases. The gilding looks quite fresh and bright overall, though areas of the floral garlands are a little rubbed. One sits at a very slight angle, and would benefit from being adjusted. There are casting fissures to some of the mounts, though these appear entirely stable. The bolts used to assemble the cassolettes including to the interiors have some oxidisation, and there is candle wax residue in the recesses which could be cleaned off.Overall, these works are in perfectly presentable condition.Condition Report Disclaimer
