A pair of large Chinese Canton famille rose 'Wu Shuang Pu' vases
Qing dynasty, 19th century
Painted in enamels and gilt with characters from the Wu Shuang Pu beneath their titles interspersed with precious objects, applied with chilong to the tall ribbed slender neck and with single lingzhi sprig to one side, 62cm high (2).

Fritting to the mouthrim to one vase, hairline to the lingzhi in relief below the mouthrim of approx. 3cm with possible restoration, a section of breakage to each side of the Chilong to the left side of the shoulder, firing imperfection to the foot.
The other vase with crazing in the glaze to the inside and out, old surface flakes to the foot rim.
Both vases with wear to the enamel and gilding.
