A pair of tall and unusual Chinese famille rose vases

Of hexagonal baluster form with flared trumpet mouth and high slightly everted foot, with two loop handles in the shape of pomegranates, decorated in famille rose enamels, one side with four boys holding a cloth sack full of peony blooms, one with a magpie on a prunus branch, one with two small figures in a rocky landscape and pines, two sides with calligraphy, and one with four lines of red square seal marks; the waisted neck painted on one side with a spray of yellow chrysanthemum, Li Tieguai on a crutch with his magical gourd, and further seal marks and calligraphy, the foot with a band of upright plantain leaves, the shoulder with a band of lotus scroll below a band of triangle work, the mouth rim with pendant fleur-de-lys, all in underglaze blue, the bases unglazed.
