A parcel gilt Renaissance silver beaker
The round, domed base decorated with finely chased repoussé fruit garlands and lobes supported by three cherub's heads. The cup almost cylindrical in section, with corresponding decor and finely engraved with tendrils surrounding the monogram "S.G." in three round reserves. Unmarked. H 8.7 cm, weight 169 g.
Presumably Southern Germany or Switzerland, late 16th century / around 1600.
