With gilt copper mountings. Decorated on all faces with naturalistic bouquets. The inside of the lid with a scene of Venus and Cupid on a cloud bank and Neptune in his chariot in the background, presumably based on a motif by Jean-Baptiste Nattier. Unmarked. The lid with a yellowed restoration. H 4.3, W 8, D 6.5 cm.
