In the middle of August 1945, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum and several hundred survivors of the Kasztner train left for the port of Trento on their way to Palestine. On August 30, the ship "Will D'Orne" arrived in Haifa on 2 September. About a year later, he set out on a fundraising trip to the United States and arrived in New York City on Rosh Hashanah, 1947. Except for this time, Rabbi Yoelish visited Israel four times more in the 1950s.
