A rare Central American cabinet on stand
Rosewood and palisander veneer on softwood, ebonised wood, gilt embossed tin, tortoiseshell, engraved bone, ebony, walnut, and ormolu mountings. An opulent open-fronted architectural cabinet on an associated but matching turned wood stand. Six central drawers flanked by two rows of five drawers to each side. Surmounted by an arc with an angel between two scrolls. With side handles. Some wear, shrinkage cracks, minor losses and reattached areas. H 101, W 109.5, D 39.5 cm, H with stand 179, W 116, D 43.5 cm.
