A rare Neo-Assyrian bronze winged bull
A rare Neo-Assyrian bronze winged bull, c. 9th - 7th Century BC, with curved wings, suspension loop at back. The piece is nicely detailed with well-defined wing and tail feathers and details of the head. 3 3/8 x 2 5/8 in. This may represent one of the mythical bovine creatures created by Ahura Mazda. Ex Northern Virginia private collection.
