A rare all original G.Vichy Gypsy dancer with tambourine musical automata, French circa 1880, the bisque Francois Gaultier head with fixed brown glass paperweight eyes, closed mouth, and dark brown wig with cork pate and coral earrings with coins, flange neck to carton body housing mechanism, key to back and stop/start lever to side, bisque lower arms, wearing a black and scarlet silk sequined skirt, velvet decorated bolero, white blouse with ruffled sleeves, red and gold headscarf, underclothes, red stockings and silk slippers, one with bells, and holding a tambourine, standing on a black velvet base, when wound Gypsy turns full circle, head tilts from side to side, right arm is raised and left arm shakes tambourine whilst she flicks her right foot as music plays, 21” (54cm) tall, (condition: head perfect, right arm with some professional restoration, in good working order, plays one tune ).
