A rare cut glass goblet and cover with a portrait and the arms of Friedrich II
Round base engraved with the royal coat of arms supporting a shaft with faceted node and tapering cup decorated with three gilt palmettes and a portrait of the king riding by a military encampment beneath a scroll inscribed "VIVAT. FRIDERICUS. BORUSSORUM. REX" held by an eagle above him. Carved once more with the coat of arms on the reverse, flanked by two "wild men" and beneath a drapery. The corresponding lid with a miniature hunting scene. With sanded chips to the basal ring. Wear to the gilt edging. The finial reattached. H 18.5, with cover 24.3 cm.
Schreiberhau (Szklarska Poreba), Prussian glassworks Weißbach, attributed to Christian Gottfried Schneider, after 1763.
