Condition Report:
There is a small chip to the rim of one the two vases, an associated crack extending onto the shoulder. One of the two covers is broken in two pieces and restored, there are sections of the interior rim that chipped and keep seperately. The other cover also has some chip in the interior rim. The neck of the vases and the sides of the covers are pierced with small holes, possibly to attach the cover and the vase together. The gold enamel might be a later addition during the 19th century. There are two labels on the base dating the acquisition of the two vases by Rochefoucault family in 1871. Both have typical surface scratches, expected firing imperfections and occasional rubbing to the gilding.
