A red-overlay white glass 'prunus and bamboo' vase
Qianlong four-character mark and of the period
With a globular body rising to a tall tubular neck with a lipped rim and supported on a splayed foot, the exterior of the body skillfully carved through the single layer of red with a butterfly, bamboo, and plum blossoms below a band of upright banana leaves encircling the neck, further decorated with a band of C-scrolls beneath the mouth-rim. 18cm (4 4/5in) high.
