A set of eight Arts and Crafts oak framed chairs, after a design by Charles Francis Annesley Voysey, the tall backs pierced with opposing heart motifs above caned panel seats, on square tapering legs, height 140cm, width 43cm, depth 50cm. Note: the original design for these chairs was created for Voysey's clients William and Haydee Ward-Higgs, a London solicitor and his wife, around 1898 for their home at 23 Queensborough Terrace. Through publications such as 'The Furnisher' magazine, this design was copied by contemporary and later craftsmen.
