A set of eight George III mahogany dining chairs, circa 1790, after a design by Thomas Sheraton, including one armchair of near identical design to the set, each pierced trellis back above a tapering rectangular padded seat, on reeded turned tapering legs, each 84cm high, 57cm wide, 50cm deep

All chairs with marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. upholstery with marks and stains. Evidence of old worm to undersides. Some old repairs, including; section of replacement timber and filler to one rear leg, repairs to an arm of each armchair. Later blocks to the underside of one armchair. Some movement within frames. The upholstery at back of one chair with trim detached.
