A set of eight Italian parcel gilt and green painted chairs

A set of eight Italian parcel gilt and green painted chairs, second half 18th century, each shaped and padded back with C-scroll and flowerhead decorated frame, above a inset padded seat, on tapering cabriole legs decorated with flowering urns and terminating in pad feet

Condition Report:
Marks, scratches, wear and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old repairs. Some old worm damage but none appears to affect the structure/ solidity of any chair. old chips and splits commensurate with age and use. Various old chips of loss and wear to the gilt and painted surface. Some relatively small areas of later re-painting or filling in of areas of paint and gilding. One front leg of one chair has previously cracked through and been re-glued. There is a screwed in metal bracket to the reverse of it to secure (see image) The chairs are generally of solid structure but joints to some chairs may need tightening/ re-gluing as expected for age. There are later blocks screwed to the interior corners of seat rails but they appear to have some age and are not very new looking. Various wear and staining to the upholstery. The upholstery of two of the chairs is a soft leather or leatherette, the remaining chairs are covered with a damask type material.
