A set of four George III mahogany hall chairs, circa 1800, each oval back centred by a painted armorial possibly depicting a ladder or rigging, above a circular seat, on turned tapering legs at the front, 89cm high, 44cm wide, 42cm deep

Provenance: The Property of a Lady of Title, Ripple Hall, Gloucestershire

Condition Report:
All four chairs with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, including indentations, scratches, and gouges to the solid seats, all seats also with various degrees of staining and marking, one in particular is lighter in colour than the others, this seat has also got plugged and filled repairs, the rear of all backs where they meet the seat also have plugs, these are probably original, The armorials also with some wear and scratches, Some chips and losses to some areas and extremities mainly the mouldings to the turned legs and tops of the backs Some wobble to the joins to the backs, again most notably to the repaired one - all are perfectly usable, One chair with supporting blocks to the undersides
