A set of four Victorian silver cauldron open salts.

A set of four Victorian silver cauldron open salts, each with gadrooned rim, embossed with floral and foliate motifs and scrolled cartouche with engraved crest, upon three stepped hoof feet, with blue glass liners. Hallmarked George Frederick Pinnell, London 1851. Overall rim diameter 2.5" (6.5 cm), weight excluding glass liners 9.55 ozt (297 grams).

Condition Report:
- Each open salt displays general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use.

- Some general surface nicks.

- Interiors likely once gilded but these are now faded with some stained marks.

- With surface wear and some flattening to areas of the decoration, causing some loss of detail.

- There is a small amount of residue polish in the embossed detail.

- One of the open salts has a large mark to the base caused by the removal of a sticker.

- Blue glass liners of differnt gauges. Likely later replacements, overall condition appears good.

- The hallmarks and maker's marks are located to bases, these have rubbed but are mostly still legible.

- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
