A side-by side shotgun by J. Purdey in LondonCal. 12/65, SN. 8510, browned barrels of damascus steel, bright bores, maker's mark and "1" on the barrel bar. Breech-end of the left barrel with two small corrosion pits, the right barrel with some minor bumping. Locks and receiver engraved with tendrils. Trigger guard and opening lever blued. English stock of nicely grained burl wood.
