In the 1960s Sophia Loren achieved status as the most famous actress in the world, something that was reflected by the fee she received for her role in the classic movie “The Fall of the Roman Empire” (1964), namely 1.000.000 dollars, back then a gigantic sum. In 1962 she was awarded an Oscar for Best Actress in “La Ciociara” and in 1992 she received an Honorary Oscar.
