Paul Newman was probably the most well-known racing team owner ever. His interest first came to life in 1968 during the making of the movie “Winning”. His initial professional participation in racing took place in 1972. In 1979 Newman participated in Le Mans with a Porsche 935 and came out as number two. In 1983 he co-established Newman/Haas Racing Team, which won the Champ Car World Series some years later, namely in 2004, 2005 and 2006 (Sebastien Bourdais).

Paul Newman is the oldest driver ever to have won Daytona. This happened in 1995 when he was 70.
