Unknown photographer: A signed colour photograph of the American actor, activist etc. Paul Newman (1925–2008) on his Czech CZ 250 motorbike from 1967. Photo size 25×20 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm.
Paul Newman's interest in fast cars and motorcycles arose early in his life and the CZ 250, which he bought in 1967, was among his absolute favourites. In 1971 the CZ appeared in the movie “Sometimes a Great Notion” and the following decades he kept it in his home in Westport, Connecticut. In October 2018, 10 years after he passed away, the motorcycle was offered for sale via the English auction house Bonham's and had an estimate price of 40,000 dollars. It did not, however, sell.
