A silver lazem necklace - Yemen 1900
The necklace is comprised of five hollow elements decorated with granulation and connected with six rows of silver beads. The two on the sides are triangular and hold the treads on which the necklace is beaded. The three elements in center are rectangular, the central element holds a hirz pendant decorated with granulation and pendants. The two on the sides each hold a crescent-shaped pendant decorated with granulation and pendants and inset with a red stone. Between the three elements on the lower beads row are threaded two round pendants each decorated with granulation and pendants and inset with a red stone.
