A small Silesian flintlock teschinke, circa 1660
Description: Slender octagonal barrel rifled with six grooves in 9.5 mm calibre. Brass and iron dovetail sights. Later flintlock with flat lock plate. Walnut full stock with rich inlays of engraved bone and mother-of-pearl. Portrayal of hounds, wild animals and mascarons between fine chip inlays (sporadic small losses). On the cheekpiece an angel playing music and sitting on a mythical creature. Patchbox with spring-loaded lid. Later brass trigger guard. Wooden ramrod with engraved bone tip. Length 106.5 cm. Interesting weapon which was modernised during its time of use around 1720 and converted from a wheellock to a flintlock rifle.
