Arabic manuscript on thin paper, approximately 550 leaves, 14 lines to the page written in naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black, on a gold ground, inner margins ruled in black and gold, double-page illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold, followed by illuminated headpiece on f. 2b, sura headings in white naskhi within a gold panel, probably original embossed floral leather binding, doublures of gold paper onlay in lattice pattern on an orange ground
