A sold-cast bronze figure of a mountain goat, possibly Bactrian, 9cm. high x 11cm. long Provenance: Private Collection Oliver Hoare (1945-2018) Published: Every Object Tells a Story, exhibition catalogue 4 May - 5 July 2017, No. 96 It is not easy to identify the particular goat represented, elegant as he is, but the emphasis of the fur down his neck suggests he is one of those goats from whom the fine fibres were plucked for making shawls. His stance is unusually alert for such an early animal figure.
