dating: First half of the 19th Century provenance: Paris, Smoothbore, two-stage barrel, square and round, with a gold-inlaid frame at the girdle, as were the moulded muzzle and powder chamber decorations. Engraved tang. Lock converted to percussion, with flat lock plate engraved with trophies at the end, signed in block capitals “.... PARIS RUE S.T HONORE” (the gunsmith’s name is barely visible). Walnut, full stock, butt with cheekpiece and checkered grips. Smooth, iron mounts, original wooden ramrod with cartridge extractors and turned head.
