A stamped brass pill box, circa 1806, the detachable lid with Nelson's portrait headed ADMIRAL LORD NELSON, the base with oak wreath and stamped Conqueror at Aboukir 1 Augt 1798, Copenhagen 2 April 1801, Trafalgar 21 Octr 1805, where he gloriously fell, Born 29 Septr 1758, the sides with Greek key border, 2.5cm high, 5.5cm diameter Provenance: with Timothy Millett, London, June 2005. Literature: L. Brown, British Historical Medals 1760-1860, I, 1980, p.143, no. 580. Note: There are bronze medals with the obverse and reverse in the Ashmolean Museum and the National Maritime Museum.
