gouache heightened with gold on paper, laid down on an album page, the blue margins with gilt decoration comprising flying simurghs and Chinese cloud bands amidst flowers and tall swaying plants

Painting: 15.8 by 8.5cm; leaf: 31.4 by 19.8cm.

Condition Report:
The edges of the folio with handling marks and minor discolouration, the right hand side margin with a small area of damage probably due to water staining with associated loss to gold details and a few creases to the paper, the painting in overall good condition with minor spots of discolouration on the face of the lady and on the blue and green sections of her robe, the reverse with minor abrasions and staining, later inscriptions in pencil to centre and lower right including previous museum inventory number, as viewed.
