With Szukalski's signature on reverse, dated 1921. "'The Heavenly Nurse gives a star to the infant, while the Snake of Wisdom, himself, reaches for the central star as if it were a fly.' The visible crack in the work was faithfully reproduced at the artist's request." - Bronzes of Szukalski, pp. 18-19. Richard Alden "Rick" Griffin (1944-1991) was an American artist and one of the leading designers of psychedelic posters in the 1960s. As a contributor to the underground comix movement, his work appeared regularly in Zap Comix. Provenance: from the personal collection of Rick Griffin as conveyed to artist Jacaeber Kastor.
