Condition Report:
The palanquin is in fairly good condition. There is expected wear and crackles to the lacquer as well as typical fading and occasional losses of lacquer predominantly along the edges of the beam. The interior decoration has been well preserved with some expected scratches and surface wear in areas. At least three of the small bronze embellishment mounts appeared to be missing and there is some retouching in the gilding in areas to the exterior. There is a parasol accessory inside coming together with the palanquin, overall a very interesting piece in condition consistent with its age and use.
