A vari-cut diamond and gem-set brooch. Gems to include opal, sapphire and zircon. Opal cabochon estimated dimensions 21 by 6.5 by 3.1mms. Estimated total diamond weight 0.85ct, H-J colour, VS2-SI1 clarity. Stamped 18C. Length 3.6cms. 9.6gms.
Condition Report:
- Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
- Diamonds fairly well matched.
- Diamonds bright and lively, light and dark inclusions.
- Opal is a white body colour, flashes in a range of hues, predominantly orange, green and blue, in good to fair condition, small chip to cabochon terminal.
- Sapphires are well matched, medium vivid blue hues, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.
- Sapphire are in good to fair condition with small abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges, one with chip to its side.
- Zircon is a medium to pale greenish-blue hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions, in fair condition, nibbles and abrasion to girdle and facet edges.
