A very rare sapper sword with scabbard, saw and mark on the blade, France, circa 1800. Heavy, large, single-edged blade with mark, blade spine with saw. The single-block cast brass hilt is shaped like a rooster's head with a feathered neck. Guard ends are bent towards the blade. Leather scabbard with bronze mounts. A very rare collector's item. length 69 cm.
