Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Regulator No. 4" wall clock in a walnut case with burl accent panels and leaf carved corbels, turned columns and teardrop finials at the base, 7.5in enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, a fine eight day weight driven timepiece movement with maintaining power, dead beat escapement and gilded mount, brass clad damascened pendulum and weight with knurled caps

Condition Report: this is a very scarce early Seth Thomas regulator in a beautiful walnut case in an original rubbed down finish, bottom bracket with veneer loss on front surface and splitting to veneer on all three sides, some surface marks on upper and lower moldings with separation gap on lower left corner molding, finials original, door glass is wavy and original, the enamel signed dial with matching beat plate has hairlines to the outer ring at the 11, 1 and 7 positions, original hands, movement also with "ST" trademark and is signed "Seth Thomas, New York", original pendulum and weight. Many of ST's early cabinetmakers were German-trained and brought catalogs for patterns, thus many of the company's better regulator cases have a resemblance to German "Vienna" regulators, ACCESSORIES: Pendulum, Winding Crank, Brass Weight, circa 1879
