A walnut chair back settee, in George II style, 19th century, the scroll shaped top rail above twin shaped splats, flanked by outswept open arms incorporating eagle head terminals, the padded and needlework upholstered seat above tapering cabriole legs terminating in claw on ball feet at the front, 101cm high, 142cm wide, 66cm deep

Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Quite highly polished Some old repairs. Underframe with old repairs visible around junction point with back rail. Signs of old worm to underframe. Seat recovered. See images Please note: this chair back settee could be very late 19th century or early 20th century. The quality is very good and not typical of that seen post 1900 however it could possibly be post 1900. The settee has been cleaned and re-polished which does not help concluding this any more accurately. Overall treatment, carving, timber and finishing to seat rails leads to conclusion it is most likley late 19th or early 20th century. It has been thoroughly cleaned and re-polished.
