A well-detailed Roman bronze bird applique, c. 1st - 4th Century AD, perhaps a goose, winds spread in flight, the feathers beautifully incised with rich brown patination. The central hole suggests this adorned a larger object. 4.1 x 3.9 cm. With custom stand. Ex New York collection; previously acquired in the 1970's.
