A well engineered model of an Alyn Foundry 'Sphinx' gas fired 'hit-and-miss' stationary engine No 113, built by the late Mr Duncan Laidlaw of Bristol. The engine having twin 22cm diameter flywheels, water cooled and supported on wooden plinth. Engine length 44cm. Width 21cm. The kit was originally sold by Alyn Foundry but was brought back to their workshop where it was built and finished by the founder of Alyn Foundry, Graham Corry in 1989/90.
