A wonderful Egyptian faience depiction of Bes, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, the upper portion of a figure, his leonine features beautifully detailed and playing flutes, a larger hole atop the head for a headdress. The figure is well-preserved with black detailing of the face and his striated hair. 2 1/4 x 2 in (5.7 x 5.1 cm). With black wood block base. Ex Brentwood, CA private collection.
