A wonderful Egyptian limestone relief, Old Kingdom, c. 2200 BC, depicting a pair of kilted men leading antelope, both grasping their respective animal by the horns, the figure on right holds the snout. The scene is beautifully carved in relief and on a horizontal ground line. Below the main scene is the uppermost portion of a scene depicting cattle, the calves seeming to frolic with tongues out. 18 ½ x 10 ½ x 1 3/8 in. (46.9 x 26.7 x 3.5 cm). With stand. Ex collection of David van Dam, Netherlands, acquired in the 1960’s.
