A wonderful Near Eastern bronze dagger
A wonderful Near Eastern bronze dagger, c. 1000 - 600 BC, the blade narrow, with wide midrib flanked by blood grooves. The hilt is flanged for in lay and the pommel is pointed and decorated with incised grooves. L: 12 in (30.4 cm). An attractive blade and nicely patinated. Ex Gagne collection, San Francisco, acquired in the 1960's while working as a flight attendant for PanAm airlines; thence by descent.
