A wonderful Roman terracotta theater mask, 1st - 2nd Century AD, mold-made, with open mouth, wide eyes and rows of curls. An attractive example with traces of original pigment remaining. 4 7/8 x 3 7/8 in (12.4 x 9.8 cm). TL tested. Ex Galerie Antiken-Kabinett, Frankfurter, Germany; Ex Schulz collection, Germany, acquired in the early 1900's.
