A wonderful hematite Old Babylonian cylinder seal, c. 1900 - 1750 BC, with fantastic detail depicting a seated deity with two standing and robed figures before and behind. A small bull is depicted before the seated figure which perhaps symbolized a sacrificial animal. L: 23 mm. Mounted with custom roll-out and base. Ex Tachner collection acquired at Ariadne gallery, NY (1980).
