The tengu struggling to release itself from the cracked shell, pulling one wing with its beak, the pale wood slightly worn and the eyes inlaid in pale translucent horn with dark pupils.
A very similar example is illustrated in Moss, ZBDC, no.67 and in Moss, MT, no.50, where it is stated that the model is derived from one by Naito Toyomasa, for an example of which, see Davey, MTH, p.241, no.745.
