A yatagan with walrus grips, Balkans, dated 1863
Straight back blade with silver-damascened decor on both sides, dated “1279” (= 1863). Brass ferrule and grip straps with filigree decor and set with glass stones and Red corals. Walrus ivory scales, one broken (repaired), the other cracked. Later leather-covered wooden scabbard with relief silver mountings. Length 76.5 cm.
