Condition Report:
The canvas is lined. There is an uneven varnish. Examination under UV light reveals an area of retouching to the upper right corner, one line of retouching to the left part of the sky and some scattered dots of retouching. There are fine lines of craquelure in places, the longest of which is approx. 10 cm long) and running vertically towards the upper right corner. There are a few dots of paint losses in places, most predominately to the sea below the buildings: one dot located approx. 44 cm from the lower edge and 52 cm from the right edge and some further dots to the lower right quadrant (located approx. 40 cm from the lower edge and 40 cm from the right edge). There is some dirt ingrained to the varnish. This work is in overall fair condition and could benefit from a clean.
