Peschka, Anton Emanuel Peschka *21.2.1885 Vienna † 9.9.1940 ibid, was an Austrian painter, Peschka studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Christian Griepenkerl, where Egon Schiele was his friend and fellow student, he married Schiele's sister Gertrude in 1914, through Schiele he also became acquainted with Gustav Klimt, the Wien Museum preserves a fabulous Egon Schiele portrait of his hand, Peschka exhibited at the Vienna Künstlerhaus in 1910 and 1919 and was a member of the Hagenbund from 1922 to 1935, in 1921 he won a Stamp competition, 1925 a competition for the design of banknotes, Peschka mainly created nudes and landscapes. His work is heavily influenced by Schiele, source Internet, here portrait format lying nude scene, ca. 21.5 x 24 cm, diagonally cut passe-partout, behind glass in a modern frame ca. 36.5 x 41 cm.Show more
